The show was programmed on a Yamaha CL5, and used almost all of its available inputs to allow the cast and band to be heard, and the Sound designs to be fully utlised whilst retaining a layer of redundancy across the key inputs.

The cast of 16 were mic’d using a variety of DPA 4061’s and Sennheiser MKE 2’s, all being fed into Shure UDLX wirelss packs. The band of 14 were ‘Ambeintly’ mid’c, but mic’d closely enough to get the punch requeired when necessary.

Worked alongside the Production Carpenter, Prod Lx and In-House teams to install the show on weekly moves, and have it in and up in a day. The toured system comprised of 12 on-stage / practical speakers, 2 flown speakers, and the amp rack for these units. In addition to this, there were 2 rack units, for the RF Control and the DSM / Qlab Control.

Due to the size of the props, and access requirements for the set, the racks location changed on a weekly basis, meaning that every fit-up presented new challenges.

The show also required 14 Shure UDLX Radio mics, fitted as both hairline mic’s and on custom earhangers depending on the characters needs. The show was mixed on a Yamaha QL1. Throughout the tour, general maintenance was required on the equipment, from re-building the amp racks due to a power issue, down to making new earhangers for new/guest cast members.
