HEAD OF SOUND - MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS UK/ROI TOUR 2024/25
As the Head of Sound on the tour, I am responsible for the installation of the toured PA system [Meyer X20/22’s] alongside the Qlab racks, toured DSM racks and RF Racks. I also operate the show and ensure that the designers sonic image is replicated every night and in every venue we visit.
Additional roles include running the Sound Load Out, troubleshooting network issues with Lx and Video, and liasing with venues ahead of time to ensure our PA and equipment will work alongside thier systems.

SYSTEMS SUPPORT ENGINEER - DARWIN FESTIVAL, DARWIN, NT
Worked alongside the Darwin Festival team, and staff from Dreamedia to intergrate the main infrastructure for the Ampitheatre during Darwin festival. This included supporting the on-site staff with Console programming and troubleshooting [Digico SD10-B, SD12-96, SD9] and ensuring the RF network was running smoothly, and could be seen both at FoH and Monitor positions for real-time RF data throughout the shows.

PRODUCTION SOUND / VIDEO TECHNICIAN - DREAMEDIA EVENTS, DARWIN, NT.
Worked within a multidisciplinary team to install a variety of Corporate events, Conferences and private functions, across a number of venues in Darwin, Northern Territory. I also worked alongside various account managers to spec, prep and deliver events to the highest possible standard.
We mainly used D&B V/Y Series PA, and a mix of Yamaha and Digico consoles depending on the event. This was then combined with Vuepix LED panelling controlled from a Novastar VX600.

PRODUCTION SOUND / VIDEO ENGINEER - THE GAP, HOPE MILL THEATRE, MANCHESTER
Worked alongside the Sound and Video creative teams to deliver The Gap to Manchester. My main responisblites included installing both the sound and video systems, and linking the systems into the Lx network to enable single person operation of the show throughout the run.
I also had to liase with Ben Ringham ahead of time to ensure that there was no lost time during technical rehearsals prior to opening.

SOUND NO. 1 - TO WONG FOO, HOPE MILL THEATRE, MANCHESTER
Worked within a small production team, to install To Wong Foo into the Hope Mill Theatre.
My responsibilities during the run included re-creating the Sam Glossops sonic design for every show, daily / weekly microphone maintainance, and general technical maintaince across the sound, lighting and video departments.

Working alongside the video designer, Dan Light, the video system was installed, tested and programmed at Hope Mill [Manchester] ahead of the show going out on the UK tour.

SOUND NO. 1 - LAND OF MIGHT HAVE BEEN, BUXTON INT’L FESTVAL , BUXTON.
Working alongside the Sound Designer, and Production teams from both the Buxton Festival and Norwich Theatre Royal, we brought the new peice to life at both the Buxton International Festival, and then again at Norwich Theatre Royal.
The show was programmed on a Yamaha CL5, and used almost all of its available inputs to allow the cast and band to be heard, and the Sound designs to be fully utlised whilst retaining a layer of redundancy across the key inputs.
The cast of 16 were mic’d using a variety of DPA 4061’s and Sennheiser MKE 2’s, all being fed into Shure UDLX wirelss packs. The band of 14 were ‘Ambeintly’ mid’c, but mic’d closely enough to get the punch requeired when necessary.

SOUND NO. 1 - BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL, UK TOUR
Worked alongside the Production Carpenter, Prod Lx and In-House teams to install the show on weekly moves, and have it in and up in a day. The toured system comprised of 12 on-stage / practical speakers, 2 flown speakers, and the amp rack for these units. In addition to this, there were 2 rack units, for the RF Control and the DSM / Qlab Control.
Due to the size of the props, and access requirements for the set, the racks location changed on a weekly basis, meaning that every fit-up presented new challenges.
The show also required 14 Shure UDLX Radio mics, fitted as both hairline mic’s and on custom earhangers depending on the characters needs. The show was mixed on a Yamaha QL1. Throughout the tour, general maintenance was required on the equipment, from re-building the amp racks due to a power issue, down to making new earhangers for new/guest cast members.

PRODUCTION VIDEO ENGINEER - CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, UK TOUR
Working alongside the rest of the Production engineers, Head of Video, and the Lx team to Install, tech, and then De-rig and Move the video system for the CATCF Tour. This included rigging and fitting 290 LED Panels into the back wall and the floor, aligning 2 projectors, and ensuring the equipment was functioning as it should.
The system comprised of ROE LED Tiles, and 2 Disguise machines that were triggered by Lx and Timecode throughout the show.

SOUND No.1 - AS YOU LIKE IT, @SOHOPLACE, SOHO, LONDON
Operated and Mixed Josie Rourke’s new rendition of As You Like It in Soho Place. Responsible for balancing 10 Ambient DPA 4067’s and 4 Sennheiser MKH40’s alongside the piano throughout the show.
The show was programmed on a Digico SD12T, and had additional hardware aattached including 2 Mac Mini’s running Mainstage, 2 Mac Mini’s running Qlab, R1 and Dante Controller, and 3 Streamdecks that were used to operate Mainstage individually, and Qlab.
Additonal responsiblities included the changing of mainstage patches for the keys on-stage throughout the show, and operating the Qlab for Sound Effects and Additional voice and instrumental parts.

SOUND No.1 - ONCE IN A LIFETIME, IVY ARTS CENTRE, GSA, SURREY
Programmed, operated and Mixed the GSA BA Actor-Muso Rendition of ‘Once In A Lifetime’. 36 Ways fo RF, using a mix of sennheiser G3 and G4 Rx/Tx Units, distributed across 19 cast members, a wirelss drum and keyboard system, and a selection of String, Woodwind and Brass Instruments.
The show was programmed on a Digico Quantum 338 [T Not Enabled]. The show was mixed Line by Line, with scenes, auto-mutes and Off-stage vocal sections programmed into the console, so that any students who were shadowing were able to see how the system can be utilised.

ASSOCIATE VIDEO ANIMATOR / PROGRAMMER - SHOMANISM!, USTINOV STUDIO, THEATRE ROYAL BATH
Worked alongside Justin Nardella [Designer] and Beth Thompson [Video Engineer] to create and animate graphics for Dickie Beau’s solo show. This included generating content in multiple formats and resolutions that could be mapped across CRT Displays, and also projected onto parts of the space from a Projector hung on the Circle Bar.
The graphics creation included a heavy use of Adobe After Effects, and Premiere Pro, along with using the dynamic link between programmes and networked machines to enable a smoother workflow.

FOH ENGINEER - GYPSY THE MUSICAL, THE BREWHOUSE THEATRE, TAUNTON
Programmed, operated and Mixed, 18 ways of RF, along with a 15 piece Pit band who were set aside in the Scene dock. Operated on a A&H SQ6, and ran the show on a Line by Line mix, with scenes and auto-mutes pre-programed in for ease of operation and handover.

TECH SWING - MAD HATTERS CIRCUS TOUR, VARIOUS HAVEN PARKS - TAG
Working alongside TAG as a technical support swing for the 5 tour circuits out during the month. This involved learning the show over 2 days, including the Lighting, Sound and Pyrotechnic operation. It also included establishing the Pack and load in/out plan due to the incredibly tight turnarounds set by the venues.

FOH/INSTALLATION ENGINEER - BUGSY MALONE, PRINCESS HALL, CLEVEDON
Programmed and Operated 16 ways of RF, a 6 Piece band and multiple pack changes throughout into the Digico S21. Operated as a single member Dept due to production restraints.

Programmed and operated Midas Pro1 for the show, line by line with 10 ways of RF and a 7 piece band. Sole member of sound dept on show, so covered fitting mics and concealing a singular mic into a wig between shows

Worked alongside the PM and the Set Designer for guidance on the graphics, and how they were meant to interact with the show. A quick turnaround was required as they needed to be tested by 1300 the next day.

Working alongside Bright* Productions to operate the sound for Pippin the Musical. 20 ways of RF, with a direct feed for Qlab and playback, along with an announcer mic that was used at various, points throughout the show. Mixed on a Yamaha CL5.

Worked alongside Theatre Royal Bath to install and operate the sound for the BTA Production of Sweeney Todd. 10 ways of RF and a 7 piece band, mixing line by line on a Yamaha QL5.

Events and Music Technician at Wells Cathedral School, responsibe for the general maintenance of 2 Venues and a Studio, and the production and streaming of virtual concerts, events, large services, for both the school and the wider community.
